Loctite 243 is a blue, medium-strength threadlocker that's used to secure and seal metal nuts, bolts, and studs:
- Works on all metals: Can be used on all metals, including stainless steel, aluminum, and plated surfaces
- Tolerant of minor contamination: Can withstand minor contamination from industrial oils, such as engine oils, corrosion prevention oils, and cutting fluids
- NSF/ANSI 61 certified: Prevents fastener loosening on vibrating assemblies, such as pumps, gear boxes, or presses
- Removable with hand tools: Can be disassembled with standard hand tools
- Standard continuous operating temperature range: Can operate in temperatures ranging from -55°C to +150°C
Here are some tips for using Loctite 243:
- Shake the product thoroughly before use.
- Avoid allowing the tip to touch metal surfaces during application.
- For best performance, apply the product to clean surfaces that are free of grease.
- For thru holes, apply a few drops of the product to the bolt at the nut engagement area.
- For blind holes, apply a few drops of the product to the lower third of the internal threads or the bottom of the blind hole.
- For sealing applications, apply a 360° bead of product to the leading threads of the male fitting.
